Lom u Tachova

Lom u Tachova ( German Lohm ) is a municipality with 396 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is located 4 km northeast of Tachov at an altitude of 500 m asl on the railway line from Tachov after Plana.

History

The first mention of Lohm dates back to 1379th The center of the winder made ​​the village pond, a forge and a bell tower. The parish was in Tachau. In 1400 a fortress was built in Lohm that mentioned for the last time in 1770 and was from 1785 a desolate castle called by a mighty tower. After 1454 the place has been called the " German Lohm ". 1819 was the Baroque chapel of the Virgin Mary. 1939 lived 234 people in Lohm.

Between 1965 and 1968, a pig farm for 1,400 sows and 1970-1973 A culture house. On 1 January 1980 Lom was incorporated into Tachov, since 24 November 1990, the place is again an independent municipality.
