The Lomná in Dolni Lomná

The Lomná ( German Lomna ) is a left tributary of the Olsa in the Czech Republic.

Course

The Lomná springs southwest of Hruska near the Slovak border in Jablunkov Bergland. Your source is located at the northern foot of the saddle Čubaňov (1101 m ) between the Burkov vrch ( 1031 m ) and the Maly Polom ( 1060 m). It flows through a deep wooded V-shaped valley where the villages Hruska, Kyčmol, Horni Lomná, Stoligy and Tatínky lie, first to the north-east. Below Tatínky the Lomná turns east and flows through Radošonka and Dolni Lomná. Thereafter, the flow takes northeasterly direction again and is bridged by the railway line Žilina - Bohumín that to Jablunkov follows the course of Lomná thereafter. East of the Novina Lomná flows 13 miles from its forested mountain valley in the Jablunkov furrow ( Jablunkovská Brázda ). Along its lower reaches are the places Pod Břehy, Městská Lomná, Bocanovice, Ošetnice, Cervena and Jablunkov. On the northern outskirts of the Jablunkov Lomná leads finally to 17.5 kilometers in the Olsa.

Nature

In the settlement Kyčmol themselves in the river is on the left side, a protected natural monument Kyčmol Torfwiese.

Northeast of Horni Lomná extends to the Velka Polana ( 893 m), the National Nature Reserve Mionší with his fir-beech forest.
