Lomo LC-A

LC -A ( Lomo Kompakt Automat ) is the name of a small -screen viewfinder camera from Lomo. It was introduced in 1984 and is based on the model CX -2, the Japanese company Cosina. A great reputation acquired this camera in that it applies as a name for the photographic style Lomography.

Construction

Over a long period from 1984 to 2005, the LC - A was prepared almost unchanged, only small details were changed. Thus, for example, no longer built into the display of the selected focus area in the viewfinder on later models. Since 2007, a slightly modified version of this camera is manufactured under the name LC -A in China. The first models were still 1 Minitar the look of Lomo Russian-made, later the look was also made in China. As a special innovation, the LC -A has received a switch that allows multiple exposures.

Equipment

The LC -A has an automatic program that measures the brightness with a cadmium sulfide photoresistor. The shutter operates electromechanically, the shutter speeds are formed continuously. The program priority is set using the aperture adjuster in position "A". A special feature is that the shutter speed will be calculated during the shutter opening and abbreviated as the shutter speed or extended if the lighting condition changes.

Focusing is done by a lever which locks in four positions, 0.8 m, 1.5 m, 3 m to infinity, older models show the selected setting in the viewfinder.

In the viewfinder, two LEDs are provided to indicate half-pressed shutter button during the following information: the left lights up when the batteries have enough power, the right lights when exposure time is expected to more than 1 /30 second.

The aperture can be selected manually, but the shutter speed to 1 /60 second is set.

When using a flash unit, the shutter speed is also set to 1/60 second. In order to adapt the performance of the flash, the aperture can be changed, this rule applies: aperture = guide number of the flash unit divided by the focal distance in meters.

Was delivered, the Lomo LC-A in a rectangular plastic box, the lower part is black, the upper transparent. In this were located next to the camera, a wrist strap and a user manual.
