Lona (mythology)

Lona is a goddess of Hawaiian mythology that is associated with the moon.

Lona we considered Polynesian moon goddess, who went down on the earth and the mortal man Ai Karaka (also Aikanaka ) took to her husband. She led him to her kingdom, the "White Kingdom". She wears the Pacific islands have different names, so it is sometimes referred to as Mahina (Ma- Hina ), which is the Hawaiian word for the moon. Other names are Loa loa, Loau Lona, Lowa, Tahiti Ta'aro or Hina and Samoa as Sina. She lived with Ai Karaka, until he died at the age of manhood. On Maui is called the moon goddess Hina and also her human husband Aikanaka.
