Lonate Pozzolo

Lonate Pozzolo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 11,762 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Varese, in the Lombardy region. The community borders the provinces of Milan and Novara ( Piedmont ).

Lonate Pozzolo is located about 32 kilometers from Novara and about 35 kilometers from Varese in the Valle del Ticino away. The Ticino (Tessin ) flows west of the community.

History

The church is first mentioned in a document of the Bishop of Novara Aupaldo 973.

Economy and Transport

In Lonate Pozzolo the company Cargoitalia had their headquarters Due to the proximity to Milan -Malpensa Airport ( Aero Porte Malpensa) in about 5 km away, and provides the community as a seat for air carriers. Since 2009 the station Ferno - Lonate Pozzolo which is served by trains on the route from Busto Arsizio to the airport. By June 2011, there was also a connection to the S -Bahn Milan on the line S10. Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 336, the airport shuttle service, as well as the Strada Statale 527 Bustese. The Strada Statale 341 marks the eastern edge of the community.
