Lonchoptera lutea is a fly from the family of Lance flies ( Lonchopteridae ).
Features
The flies reach a body length of 2.0 to 3.0 millimeters. Her body is slender and cylindrical. On the thorax and abdomen runs along the back of the center a dark stripe. The posterodorsale bristle on the rails ( tibiae ) of the middle legs is noticeably shorter than the Dorsalborste. In the tibiae of the front legs ever there is a Dorsalborste in the basal and the apical third. There is no posterodorsalen bristles are formed. The species can only be reliably determined based on genitalmorphologischen investigations.
Occurrence and life
The animals come across the Palearctic widespread. They are found in grassy fields, from plains to mountain areas.
