London Mozart Players

Founded by Harry Blech in 1949 as the first chamber orchestra of the United Kingdom, the London Mozart Players (LMP ) an ensemble of international musicians.

The LMP played under numerous conductors, including Sir John Barbirolli, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Roger Norrington and Sir Georg Solti. Earlier Musikdirekoren the LMP were Andrew Parrott to be an expert in the field of early music, Matthias Bamert, Jane Glover and Harry Blech. Currently directing Sir James Galway as Principal Guest Conductor and Nicolae Moldoveanu as Associate Guest Conductor and Simon Callow as LMP Theatrical Advisor.

The home of the LMP is Fairfield Halls in Croydon, Surrey.

In Mozart's anniversary year 2006, the LMP led the music on in over 130 venues in the UK and Europe.

Since 1993, the LMP are involved in a series of CD recordings of lesser known classical composers, which appears under the title Contemporaries of Mozart and including works by Ignaz Joseph Pleyel, Christian Cannabich, Franz Krommer, Leopold Mozart, Michael Haydn, Muzio Clementi, William Herschel, John Marsh, Carlos Baguer and Leopold Kozeluch considered. The latest of now has 24 recordings, symphonies, ballet suites and overtures by Georg Joseph Vogler (published in April 2009) and symphonies by Luigi Boccherini devote (published in June 2010).
