London is a city in Madison County of the state of Ohio, United States. London, which had in the census of 2000 8771 inhabitants, is the county seat and thus a judicial seat of Madison County.

History

1810, was assigned as Madison County, lacked a suitable settlement for the County Seat. A Commission acquired 200 Acren land from a John muffin to establish the seat of the court there. Around these are formed the city of London.

However, the town grew slowly and had in 1840 297 inhabitants. It was not until the mid 19th century he experienced, mainly because of the connection to two railway lines, a significant upswing and 1880 3292 people lived in London. The growth continued in the 20th century and in 2000, London was the city with the highest population in Madison County.
