London Triathlon

The London Triathlon (also Mazda London Triathlon ) is a triathlon that is held annually since 1997 in July or August in London.

Organization

With last more than 13,000 runners, 2009, the Mazda London Triathlon is one of the largest events of this kind, he will be held over two distances since 2003:

  • Short distance (0.75 km swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run )
  • Olympic Distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run )

He is not to be confused with the London Triathlon Dextro Energy World Championship Series, which annually in July by the International Triathlon Union ( ITU) is organized here. The start of the swim course takes place at the Royal Victoria Dock Bridge, the pedaling is towards central London and the running track is located in the Docklands.

In July 2011, the British entrepreneur Richard Branson has gone to the start, the company has acquired the Virgin Active sponsorship of the competition.
