Longgang District, Huludao

Longgang (龙港区) is a municipality of the prefecture-level city of Huludao and is the center of this city. Longang has an area of 138 km ², 150,000 inhabitants ( 2001) and lies in the southwest of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

The municipality is situated on a promontory on the Bohai Sea to the west of the city of Jinzhou. Approximately one-third of its area consists of forest and green areas, which earned him a reputation as a garden city.

There are chemical plants, shipyards, and a major port on industry. There is an oil pipeline to Panjin.

History

At the site of this city district already Emperor Qin Shi Huang Di is said to have built from the Qin Dynasty a palace.
