Much Frogfish (Antennarius multiocellatus )

Much Frogfish called (Antennarius multiocellatus ), also Caribbean eyespot anglers is a 24 inches long expectant representatives of the angler fish ( Antennariidae ). He belongs to a group of closely related species to the Painted Frogfish (Antennarius pictus).

Features

The multi- spot frogfish is deep-bodied than most of its relatives. It may be brown, yellow, red, orange or pink color. Much Frogfish mimic in shape and color sponges. Dark spots on the side and the dorsal fin are reminiscent of the outflow of the sponges. Almost always, there are three staggered black spots on the tail fin. Like other frogfish also, they can change color. The second dorsal spine is covered by a thick skin, making this a big head hump.

Dissemination

The fish live in the western Atlantic, from Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Florida coast, the Caribbean to the coast of Central America, Colombia, Venezuela and along the coast of Brazil to Salvador. An isolated population is at Ascension Island in the central South Atlantic. Much Frogfish adhere to 65 meters always near sponges at depths of one.
