Longwood Medical and Academic Area

The Longwood Medical and Academic Area also LMA or Longwood, is the official name for a medical campus in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States, which is considered due to its size as an informal district - the official website of Boston, the area of not as such. The term is not to be confused with the directly opposite on the other side of the Muddy River nearby, "real" neighborhood Longwood in Brookline.

The campus runs on Boston's Longwood area along the Avenue of the Huntington Avenue to the Riverway through the districts of Fenway - Kenmore and Mission Hill. On the premises are located next to Harvard Medical School for many more medical facilities and hospitals, but also museums, colleges and research institutions.

Transport

LMA is operated by two stops at the opposite ends of Longwood Avenue. The stop Longwood is approached by the MBTA Green Line D, the Longwood Medical Area stop by the Green Line E. In addition, some bus routes in the district, and shuttle buses for employees create direct connections to Harvard and MIT.
