Lonnie Liston Smith

Lonnie Liston Smith ( born December 28, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia) is a pianist and keyboardist.

Previously sideman for Rahsaan Roland Kirk ( 1965-67 ), where he worked as the album Now Please Do not You Cry, Beautiful Edith, at Art Blakey (1966 ), Pharoah Sanders ( Karma, 1969), Gato Barbieri (1971) and Miles Davis ( 1973), he combined from 1974 to Lonnie Liston Smith his own band & the Cosmic Echoes jazz with popular black musical styles such as funk. Lonnie Liston Smith is one of the representatives of the merger. After his commercial success with the album Expansions he remained the style of music largely true today.
