Lopadea Nouă

Lopadea Nouă (deprecated Lopadea ungurească; German shovel village, Hungarian Magyarlapád or Lapad ) is a town in Alba county in Transylvania, Romania.

Geographical location

Lopadea Nouă located in the northeast of Alba County, Riverfront Hopârta - a tributary of the Mureş - in western Transylvania. ( Judetean Drum ) On the county road DJ 107E, the place is located 8 kilometers east of Aiud (Strasbourg Mures ); the county capital Alba Iulia ( Charles Castle ) is located about 35 kilometers south-west.

History

On the territory of the municipality there are numerous archaeological sites that point to a settlement since the Neolithic period. South of the town - known by the locals Gorgan - necropolis and the remains of dwellings from the Migration Period and the remains were found by dwellings of the Hallstatt and Bronze Age.

The town was mentioned under the name of Villa Lapad for the first time ( according to different data) in 1177 or 1202.

The main occupation of the population is agriculture, cattle breeding and fruit growing.

The highest population of the church today - also the Romanians and the Hungarians - was determined in 1956; those of the Germans in 1900, all in eingemeindeten village Asinip ( Mrs. Hill), the Roma (140 ) 1850. At the censuses of 1880, Ukrainians and Slovaks were three and in 1890 again three Slovaks registered.

Attractions

  • The Reformed Church from the 15th century. In 1864, the tower was built and is a listed building.
  • The wooden church Sf. Theodor Tiron built in Băgău ( Bogun ), 1733, 1847 rebuilt, is a listed building.
  • The salt field at Ocnişoara ( pit village).
  • The Ponor is the common Deten village Băgău.
