Lopburi River

The Lopburi River in the city of Lopburi

The river Lopburi ( Thai: แม่น้ำ ลพบุรี ) is a river in central Thailand. He is about 95 km long.

The Lopburi branches at Tambon Bang Phutsa, province ( Changwat ) Singburi, from the Chao Phraya River and then flows further south. Having Amphoe Tha Wung and the city of Lopburi flows through, he goes along with the flow Pasak back into the Chao Phraya. The rivers form a kind of rectangle, so that an island has formed. Here the later capital city of Ayutthaya was founded in the 14th century.
