Lophophore

The ring sensor ( in German literature usually Tentaculata, internationally best- known Lophophorata ) are no longer recognized by most taxonomists phylum. To them, the horseshoe worms ( Phoronoida ), bryozoans ( Bryozoa ) and brachiopods ( Brachiopoda ) were counted. They have in common is the formation of a Lophophors. This is a curved or coiled Armgerüst, which is staffed with tentacles. Two of these Lophophore sit like a wreath around the mouth opening of the animals. Today these animal groups are identified in the lophotrochozoans.
