Lorain is a city in Lorain County in the U.S. state of Ohio. Lorain has 68 652 inhabitants on an area of 62.8 square km. The town lies at the mouth of the Black River into Lake Erie west of Cleveland. It belongs to the metropolitan area of Cleveland - Lorain - Elyra.
History
Lorain was founded in 1807 under the name of Charleston.
Economy
In Lorain, there was an operation of the Ford Motor Company, in which the Ford E- Series was built. The production is ceased on 14 December 2005.
