Lorcha (boat)

A lorcha is a sailing ship hull with European and Chinese rigging. The ship was used after the First Opium War, especially by British merchants. The Second Opium War, also known as Lorchakrieg.

Examples

• Vung Tau shipwreck, a Chinese ship wreck of the Qing Dynasty ( Kangxi period around 1690), which was established in 1989 off the island of Hon Cau, Côn Đạo Islands found, and from which in the years 1990-92 by Mike Hatcher about 60,000 artifacts mainly Chinese porcelain were recovered.
