Lord Chancellor of Scotland

The Lord Chancellor of Scotland was the highest office in Scotland to the Union with England.

The owner of the office are known only from the year 1123. In the early days, even a low officer was occasionally appointed. From the 15th century the Lord Chancellor were usually bishops or Earls.
