Lord Saltoun

Lord Saltoun, of Abernethy, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of Scotland, now a branch of the Fraser family, the Frasers of Philorth is performed.

Family residence is Sauchen in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Award

The title was created in 1445 for Sir Lawrence Abernethy. How many older titles of the peerage of Scotland, he is subject to semi- Salic succession. If a title holder has no sons, he therefore passes to the eldest daughter.

Assumed title heiress ( Heiress Presumptive ) is the eldest daughter of the current holder of the title, Hon Katharine Ingrid Mary Isabel Fraser, Mistress of Saltoun (* 1957). Heritage of the alleged Title heir is her son Alexander William Malise Fraser (* 1990).

Comments

  • The respective owner of the title is simultaneously head of the native to the Lowlands portion of the Clan Fraser. Living in the Highlands part of the clan is led by the respective Lord Lovat.
  • The current Lady Saltoun, and their heirs received two titles in 1973 by Lord Lyon King of Arms the power to lead instead of their previous family name the surname of Fraser in order to document the function as the head or future leader of the clan.
  • Only recently it has been found that Margareth Abernaethy her brother, the 9th Lord Saltoun to survive about six weeks and therefore at this time was the holder of the title. This shifted the atomic numbers of the subsequent holder of the title. In earlier representations of this takes no account.
