Lore Berger

Lore Berger, Lenore actually Berger ( born December 17, 1921 in Basel, † August 14, 1943 ibid ) was a Swiss writer.

Life

The daughter of a teacher couple Lore Berger had a comfortable childhood. After school she enrolled in 1939 with the subjects German and Romance Languages at the University of Basel. In 1941, she signed up as a volunteer at military woman Subsidiary for which she worked as an office assistant in a court of law until 1943.

1943 was her novel The Good hill. A story against Thomas, which was published posthumously in 1944. On 14 August 1943, Lore Berger rushed to the Basel Brother Wood, the " merciful hill " from her novel, from the water tower to his death. In her novel she had let the character of Bea die exactly that way. It is likely that the novel was only published because of Berger's suicide and the parallels in the novel 1944. In 1981 the novel was reissued and this translated into French and Italian and in the same year by Beat Kuert under the title The time has filmed evil. In many cases, parallels were drawn to Fritz Wrath autobiographical work of Mars, the 1977 was also published posthumously.
