Lore Lorentz

Lore Lorentz ( born September 12, 1920 in Ostrava, today Ostrava, Czech Republic, † 22 February 1994 Dusseldorf ) was a German cabaret artist.

Life

Lore Lorentz, born Schirner, studied after high school history, German language and philosophy in Vienna and Berlin. In Berlin she met the students Kay Lorentz, whom she married in 1944. With her husband she founded in Dusseldorf in 1947 without knowledge of the first German post-war theater cabaret The Kom (m) ödchen. She made her stage debut Lore Lorentz in 1947 with the positive program against it. Until 1983 it belonged to the ensemble of the Kom (m) ödchens, then she has presented solo programs, eg 1980 Lore Lorentz presented the Pürkels and a nice story. Many of their programs were also broadcast on television, mostly as production of WDR. In the radio program of the WDR Lore Lorentz emerged in the 1950s occasionally in operettas, which were conducted by Franz Marszalek (eg " Adrienne " from Goetze with the famous " spirits song" ).

In the press she was referred to as the grande dame of German cabaret and as a prima ballerina assoluta political satire. She was one of the most important figures of the political- literary cabaret. Its particular strength was the chanting and an excellent sense of timing - artfully placed breaks in the texts.

In 1976, she leaned with her husband Kay Lorentz from the adoption of the Federal Cross of Merit.

From 1976, Lore Lorentz taught at the Folkwang School in Essen chanson, song and musical.

In 1994 she died thirteen months after Kay from the effects of pneumonia. Her grave is next to that of her husband in the cemetery Heerdt in Dusseldorf.
