Loreen (singer)
Loreen ( born October 16, 1983 as Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui in Stockholm) is a Swedish singer of Moroccan origin. In 2012, she won the Euro Vision Song Contest with the song Euphoria for Sweden.

Biography
Loreen was born in 1983 as the daughter of Moroccan Berber - parents in Stockholm, but grew up in Västerås. Under the name Lorén Talhaoui she participated in the first season of the talent show Idol - the Swedish equivalent of Pop Idol - in part, which was aired by the TV channel TV4 August to November 2004. She retired in the quarterfinals on November 12 as fourth-placed from the competition. After the program, she published together with Rob'n'Raz the song The Snake, not entered the Swedish charts. She also worked as a presenter for TV400, but it was then quiet for the singer. As musical role models are called Björk, Enya and Lisa Gerrard.
Loreen took at Melodifestivalen 2011, the Swedish Trials in part to the Euro Vision Song Contest. Their song My Heart Is Refusing Me was written by her, Moh Denebi and Björn Djupström. In the second semi-final on 12 February 2011 she reached the fourth place, but qualified for the Andra Chansen, a "second -chance round " in which she, however, was eliminated. With My Heart Is Refusing Me she finished ninth in the Swedish charts.
In 2012 she returned to Melodifestivalen, this time with Thomas G: son and Peter Boström composed and texted song Euphoria. The choreography of their performance plays with dance elements from the Brazilian martial art form Capoeira. In the first semifinal on 4th February Loreen sat with about 160,000 calls through against their competition and qualified directly for the finals on 10 March in Stockholm. There she received both by the European judges as well as by the Swedish Televotern the most votes and thus represented Sweden at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012 in Baku. After their victory Euphoria reached in several countries, the top of the charts, while in Sweden, the song had already occupied early March chart number one. In addition, it was the bookies as one of the favorites to win the Euro Vision Song Contest. On May 24, she reached the in the two days later held ESC final, which they won from Serbia (214 points) with 372 points, ahead of the Russian Buranowskije babushkas (259 points) and Željko Joksimović.
As part of its second Melodifestivalen Participation also reached her song Sober, which was actually published in September 2011 in the Swedish charts.
On 8 October 2012, the single Crying Out Your name appeared.
Her first studio album Heal was published on 26 October 2012 in Germany. In their native Sweden, the album won the first place of the charts.
In the first semi-final of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2013 Loreen appeared with her single Euphoria. In the final, she sang their new single released on May 17, 2013 We Got The Power.
Political motivation
Ahead of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012 Loreen internationally caused a stir by publicly commented on the situation of human rights in the host country Azerbaijan and met with opposition in the country. Together with Anke Engelke's message to the Azerbaijani opposition during typical for the ESC points award via video message Talhaoui was one of the few central characters who expressed their political beliefs publicly.
