Lorenzo Ornaghi

Lorenzo Ornaghi ( born October 25, 1948 in Villa Santa, Lombardy ) is an Italian political scientist. From November 2011 to April 2013 he was Italian Minister of Culture.

Life

Lorenzo Ornaghi graduated in 1972 in political science at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and was ibid. involved in research. 1987 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Teramo. In 1990 he became Professor of Political Science at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. In 2002, he was Vice Rector in charge of international relations. Since 2006 he has been Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and was re-elected in 2010.

Policy

Lorenzo Ornaghi was appointed by Italy's Prime Minister Mario Monti to the Minister of Cultural Heritage on November 16, 2011. In political terms, Ornaghi is associated with the conservative Catholic movement Communion and Liberation.
