Lorenzo is a town in Crosby County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located on U.S. Highway 82 in northwestern Texas, in the southern area of the Texas Panhandle, is 32 km east of Lubbock and has a total area of 2.7 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,372 people in 472 households, and 353 families. The population density was 514.3 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 64.65 % White, 6.63 % African American, 1.24 % Native American, 0.07 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 25.15% from other ethnic groups. Approximately 2.26% were of mixed descent, and 54.01 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 472 households 36.7 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.4 % were married couples living together. 13.6% were single mothers and 25.2% were non-families. 23.5 % of all households were single-person households, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size to 3,48 people.

32.1% of the population were under 18 years old, 9.5 % from 18 to 24, 24.7% 25-44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.3 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 32 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 88.7 males.
