Lörrach Central Station is the main train station of the seven stations and stops the southern Baden city of Lörrach. The main station is located on the meadow valley train from Basel Bahnhof Baden to Zell in the meadow valley and belongs to the train station category 4 It trains the Regio S- Bahn Basel, operated by the SBB GmbH.

History

The Lörracher station went in 1862 as part of the first private railway in Baden, erected by the railway company Wiesenthal meadow valley railway in operation. The route led from the German railway station in Basel, where connection was established at the Badische main track, and to Schopfheim since 1876 to Zell. On 10 May 1862, the first test run took place and on June 5 of that year, the polygonal line was officially opened in the presence of Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden. In advance of the opening track the location of the Lörracher station in the 1860s was controversially discussed. Technical and financial aspects eventually led to its present location just north of Rheinfelden (today: Wallbrunnstraße ). To January 1, 1889 was acquired by the State of Baden route and train station. The first station building was from 1862 until his conversion in 1905 inventory.

Formerly possessed freight and passenger station via four signal boxes that have been replaced by an electronic signal box in 2004. By 2009, the station was only Lörrach, the name was changed at the initiative of the Free Voters. The end of 2011 was built on a bicycle parking garage at the northern part of the station building.

Location

The Lörracher Central Station is located on the eastern edge of developed through the pedestrian zone downtown close to the main post office, the Lörrach town hall and the central bus station. At present, the urban development and redesign of the Belchenstraße is the main railway station strongly associated with the eastern neighborhood at the frame. A completion of these actions is estimated for May 2013.

Infrastructure

The station building consists of a five-part structure, the facade is covered with dressed stone. Together with the interlocking buildings North and South that were each built of brick with a hipped roof, it stands as a material entity under monument protection.

In Lörrach there since 1963, a car passenger terminal DB Highway, the 500 meters north-north - east is the persons platforms in the train yard.
