Lorraine Crapp

Lorraine Crapp ( born October 17, 1938 in Sydney ) is a former Australian swimmer.

With the Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956, she was over 400 m freestyle and the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay Olympic gold medalist. About 100 m freestyle, she had to admit defeat her compatriot Dawn Fraser. In this close race both swimmers remained below the world record jointly held. With the Summer Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, she won again with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay silver medal. After these games, she ended her career.

In 1972, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
