Lorraine Gary
Lorraine Gary ( born August 16, 1937 in New York City as Lorraine Gottfried ) is an American actress.
Life and work
Gary made his debut in 1967 in an episode of the TV series Police report. From 1968 to 1973 she appeared in several episodes of the TV series on The Chief. In the television drama The City (1971 ) she played alongside Anthony Quinn. In 1977, she starred in the film drama I gave you never promised a rose garden with.
In Jaws Gary played the role of Ellen Brody, the wife of police chief Martin Brody ( Roy Scheider). She went still on in two sequels of the hit film. For Jaws - The Settlement ( 1987), she was also nominated for a Saturn Award and the Golden Raspberry.
Gary is married to the film producer Sid Sheinberg since 1956. They have two sons who also work as a film producer, Bill Sheinberg and Jonathan Sheinberg.
