Lorsch Bee Blessing

The Lorsch bees blessing is one of the oldest seals rhyming in German. The spell was written in the 10th century in Old High German upside down on the bottom of a page of the apocryphal Visio St. Pauli from the early 9th century. The manuscript was in the middle or upper Rhine area and was kept from about 900 in the Lorsch monastery; there is likely to be the entry of bees blessing takes place in the 10th century. In the 16th century the manuscript was in the Bibliotheca Palatina in Heidelberg. Since 1623 she is in the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana under the signature Pal ( Atinus ) lat ( inus ) 220 stored ( the bees blessing can be found there on fol. 58r ).

English linguists have noted similarities with the Old English Charm with bees blessing ymbe.
