Lorüns

The tourist resort of Lorüns is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in Vorarlberg, Austria. with 280 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

Geography

Lorüns lies on 583 meters altitude in Vorarlberg, the westernmost federal state of Austria. The village is nestled between the mountains of the Rätikon and Verwall. 74.8 % of the area is forested. There are no other local villages in Lorüns.

History

The level at the input of the Montafon valley has been inhabited since the Middle Ages.

The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Lorüns heard since the foundation in 1861.

Attractions

Above Lorüns, on Lorünser lock head - almost entirely on the municipality Stallehr - there are ruins of a medieval building with four clearly recognizable wall coatings, which have been dated to the early 14th century. The thief Schlossle is also called " Lorünser Schlossle ".

Little is known about the history of this plant.
