Los Hermanos Archipelago

Los Hermanos (Spanish Islas Los Hermanos, German "The Brothers " ) is a group of small islands in the Caribbean Sea, about 175 km north of the coast of Venezuela, 80 km north of Isla Margarita and 12.4 km east of La Blanquilla located. Geographically includes the islands of the Leeward Islands, administratively to the Dependencias Federales ( Federal Territories ).

The archipelago consists of six small, barren islands and two rocky islets nameless, extending over a length of 14 km. At Los Hermanos include ( from north to south ), with historical names:

  • Isla La Orquilla: 0,45 km ² La Horquilla ( Jueves )
  • Islote El Rajao 0.03 km ²
  • Isla Los Morochos: 0,27 km ² lot Morochos ( Sábado y Viernes )
  • Islote Papelón 0.05 km ²
  • Isla Grueso: 0.68 km ² Morro de afuera o grueso ( Domingo )
  • Isla Pico (Isla Pando ): 0.41 km ² Morro Pando o Isla del Pico ( Miércoles )
  • Isla Fondeadero: 0,31 km ² El Morro Fondeadero (Martes )
  • Isla Chiquito 0.02 km ² Morro Chiquito ( Lunes )

The islands together have a land area of 2.12 km ².
