Los Saicos

Los Saicos were a Peruvian garage rock band founded in Lima in 1964 by four young amateur musicians: Erwin Flores (guitar and vocals), Rolando Carpio ( lead guitar ), César " Papi " Castrillón (bass) and Pancho Guevara (drums). They were one of the most influential Latin American rock bands of the 1960s. It appeared "only" six singles and no album does 1965 and 1966. All published titles were original compositions written by Erwin Flores and Rolando Carpio.

Many myths surround the history of Los Saicos, all gave out of their singles except for the small label "Dis Perú ". They were pioneers in writing wild, spanish rock songs and were very popular in their country. Your anthem " Demolición " was one of the biggest radio hits of his time in Peru. In 1965, Los Saicos even has its own TV show. In late 1965, after great success, the group decided to stop with the music and went to live a "normal" life. Rolando Carpio died in the spring of 2005, two " Saicos " emigrated to the United States, the drummer Pancho Guevara still lives in Lima.
