Biography

After a few appearances in the summer of 1988 under the name "The Straitjackets " the band members played again until 1994 under the name " Los Straitjackets " together, supplemented by the bassist Scott Esbeck. In July 1994, a first demo tape in the studio " Alex the Great " was recorded in Nashville. The recordings were the basis for the first album of Straitjackets The Utterly Fantastic and Totally Unbelievable Sound of Los Straitjackets, which was published in March 1995 at " Upstart Records ".

In the following years the band in the United States earned a cult status. With appearances all the band members wear black costumes with gold medallions and Mexican wrestling masks. Danny Amis is the spokesman for the band at concerts. Songs will be presented by him in a quick, badly accented Spanish.

1998 Esbeck left during the recording of the album The Velvet Touch of Los Straitjackets the band and was replaced by Pete Curry. 2005 Lester was replaced by Jason Smay, who later in the band of JD McPherson moved. His place now occupied Chris Sprague.

Danny Amis fell ill with cancer in 2011, after several tours followed without him. Amis was finally able to return to mid-2012, the album Jet Set record, which was released in 2012 the band.
