Lost ( T) apes is the sixth album by the German rock band Guano Apes. It is also available as a double CD with the titles of Planet of the Apes as The Best & The Lost Tapes. You can hear songs from the early days of Guano Apes from the years 1994 and 1995. In Germany the album reached number 75 on the album charts. The album title is ambiguous, since it translates Although means Perished recordings (which it also contains ), but the T is set in word tapes for the original title in parentheses to again arise with the other letters Apes an allusion to the name of the group.

Background

The album was conceived as a kind of farewell gift for fans with demo recordings from the early days of the band. So, Lost (T) apes the bumpy sounding approaches of the later hit " Open Your Eyes " and original versions of other popular songs, as well as unknown and previously unreleased songs. The demo recordings originally made in a youth center were reworked for the publication of Lost ( T) apes, but do not reach the quality of studio recordings. The well-known songs of the band have some other name or other text content than the versions published later. The title "Water Fly" was not published until Lost ( T) apes on a phonogram, but has been played for some time in live performance as the opening act.

Lost ( T) apes also appeared unchanged and the same publication date, as a double CD together with the titles of Planet of the Apes under the title The Best and the Lost (T) Apes.

Reception

Since this is the first recordings of the band, these sound " off and on quite abysmal in sound ", as Alexander notes Cordas of laut.de. Next, the sound had been partially " messed up " with artificial and inharmonious sounding breaks and tempo changes. Cordas describes the recordings yet to be significant, since at that time probably no funds were available to make reasonable shots. Nicolas friend of metalnews.de believes that Lost ( T) apes is suitable for hardcore fans or nostalgic, but all others should listen to the regular studio albums, since the unreleased recordings would reach any albums quality on average. Furthermore, it is nevertheless interesting, since the development of the individual songs 'll watch.
