Lothair II of Italy

Lothar II (c. 928; † November 22 950 in Turin) from the family of Bosoniden was King of Italy ( 946-950 ) and is ranked among the National kings.

Life

Lothar was the son of King Hugh I of Italy and Alda and was married to Adelaide of Burgundy, the daughter of King Rudolf II of Upper Burgundy. Since 933 promised her they closed the marriage in the year 947 before the 27th of June.

Since 931 was Lothar co-regent of his father, whom he succeeded on the throne 946. The actual rule in his lifetime, however, had Berengar II, Margrave of Ivrea held. This was followed by Lothar after his sudden death on the royal throne.

Lothar II 's daughter Emma of Arles was 966 married to the West Frankish King Lothar.
