Lothar Doering

He played in the DDR - Oberliga for SC Leipzig has been with the club in 1976 and 1979 DDR champion. With the East German national team, he was runner-up in 1974 and 1980 at the Olympic Games in Moscow Olympic champion. In 78 international matches of the back player threw 181 goals. After his playing career Doering became a coach and coached among others, the women of the SC Leipzig, the women's national handball team of the GDR, the German national team of women ( won the world championship in 1993 ), the men of the SC Magdeburg and today the men of construction Altenburg.

Doering was in 1980 awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
