Lotion

A lotion (debate either dt [ lot͡si̯o ː n] or English [ ləuʃn̩ ]; . LOTIO from the Latin " wash, bath ", " wash, bathe " to Lavaré ) is an externally applied liquid aqueous or aqueous- alcoholic concoction with suspended or emulsified pharmaceutical active ingredients and excipients.

Lotions are used for cleaning, treatment, or care of the skin.

Liquid suspensions with 50 % solids content (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide), as a lotion or shake mixture called (see chart), can be applied with a brush and have slight drying and absorbing exudate.

As a lotion or milk (eg, suntan lotion ) is colloquially often referred to an externally applied oil-in- water emulsion.
