Lou Barlow

Lou Barlow ( born July 17, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio ) is an American musician. He was a member of the indie rock band Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and The Folk Implosion.

Life

Barlow grew up in Massachusetts. He already met at school J. Mascis, with whom he founded the first hardcore punk band Deep Wound early 80s, with Mascis on drums and Barlow on guitar. After the end of Dinosaur Jr. was born; with this band as bassist Barlow played between 1984 and 1988 three albums, before he got in battle.

Subsequently Barlow was especially busy with his originally founded as a side project band Sebadoh, with whom he produced lo-fi music. From 1991, he also published occasional solo material under the name Sentridoh; Mid-90s, the project came to The Folk Implosion, which made rather unusual talk, among other things by soundtrack contributions to the films Kids and goodbye from him.

In 2000, Barlow played one half of a Subsonic 6 -titled Split CD, the other half of Rudy Trouvé dEUS responsible, 5 years later, Merge Records released his first published album under his own name, Emoh.
