Lou Christie

Lou Christie ( born February 19, 1943 as Alfredo Giovanni Sacco in Lugee Glenwillard, Pennsylvania) is an American singer and songwriter who was very successful mainly in the 60s.

He began his career working in the band " Classics", and then in 1961 to found " Lugee & The Lions ". Great successes, however, were not so recorded. Success only came under the name of " Lou Christie " and reached its climax in 1966 with the title " Lightnin ' Strikes" and # 1 on the U.S. charts.

In the early 70s he got major drug problems. After he had made in London into rehab, he worked on an oil rig or a cowboy - the main thing there were jobs that had nothing to do with music. In the late 70s he then came to New York and worked as a backing vocalist. He also appeared regularly in rock'n'roll revival shows.

In 1981, he joined the band " Cantina Band ", which had a moderate success in the U.S. with a Beach Boys medley. Since the 90s, it occurs most frequently in Europe Oldie Festival.
