Lou Diamond Phillips

Lou Diamond Phillips ( born February 17, 1962 at the United States Naval Base Subic Bay, Philippines; actually Louis Upchurch ) is an American actor, director, screenwriter and film producer. He joined partly also under the name Lou Diamond.

Life

Phillips can be seen since the late seventies in film and television productions. Because of his ethnic background - he has Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, Spanish and Native American ancestry - he often plays Mexicans or Indians.

Phillips received several awards as an actor; including a nomination for a Golden Globe (1989, for Stand and Deliver ).

1986 to 1990 he was married to Julie Cypher. For a further marriage to Kelly Phillips whom he has three daughters, Lili, and the twins Grace and Isabella. Now he is married to the make-up artist Yvonne Marie Bois Mier, with whom he has a daughter, Indigo Sanara.

In 1996 he played on Broadway in a new production of the musical " The King and I ", the role of the king.

In addition to numerous films he appeared occasionally in a supporting role in the television series Numb3rs. He played there the agent and sniper Ian Edgerton.

In 2009 he reached before Torrie Wilson 1st place of I'm A Celebrity Get me Out of Here, the American version of I'm a Celebrity - Get me out of here.

He played the role of Colonel Telford in the Stargate series Stargate Universe ( 2009-2011).
