Lou Grant (TV series)

Lou Grant is an American television series that aired from 1977 to 1982 on CBS. It emerged as an offshoot from the sitcom Mary Tyler Moore. In Germany 1982, 52 selected episodes of the series on ZDF were seen between January 1979 and January. After repetitions of individual sequences in the ZDF program ( 1985) and from satellite 1 (1986-1987, 1988), tv.münchen (1989-1990 ), ProSieben (1990) and Tele 5 (1991-1992) radiated from the transmitter VOX September 1993 all previously synchronized episodes of the series again from. Following this, in 1995 more repetitions and 61 new episodes of the series were shown intermittently until July. Content

Lou Grant is a journalist for years and finally gets his big chance. After many years working in television in Minneapolis, he assumes a position in the local section of the Los Angeles Tribune. However, the newspaper is completely under the dominion of the owner Margaret Pynchon. Especially Lou Grant gets to feel that. There is hardly a day when he does not gets together with the wayward lady, but Grant can ultimately prevail mostly. Together with his team he manages to make the Los Angeles Tribune, one of the most successful newspapers in the city.

Awards

The series has won thirteen Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Overall, there were 26 awards and another 61 nominations. Other awards included, among others, three DGA Awards and a WGA Award.
