Lou Scheimer

Lou Scheimer (* October 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh, † October 17, 2013 in Tarzana, Los Angeles) was an American producer and one of the original founders of Filmation 's animated film company. With Filmation he produced many animated series in the 1980s.

Scheimers most famous creation was the animated series He- Man and the Masters of the Universe. Later, a movie followed by the name The secret of magic sword.

In addition to its production activities Scheimer also worked as a voice actor in his series, but under the pseudonym Erik Gunden. Among other things, he gave the He-Man characters Orko Stratos and King Randor his voice. This step was necessary because the budget for the series was very small sized and you a variety of voice actors could not afford.

With Masters of the Universe Scheimer created the first, based on game characters television series ever.

His daughter Erika Scheimer is also active as a voice actress. She borrowed the cartoon character She- Ra her voice.
