Loud Records

Loud Records is an American record label, founded in 1992 by Steve Rifkind in New York.

The hip-hop - oriented label had at his wedding some hip -hop greats such as Wu -Tang Clan, Big Punisher, Mobb Deep, Krayzie Bone, The Beatnuts, MOP, Tha Alkaholiks, Pete Rock, Lil 'Flip, Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat, Xzibit, Twista and Dead Prez under contract. Even outside the genre has worked with bands like Megadeth.

As a distribution partner was used until 1999, RCA Records. Then the distribution of Columbia Records was acquired. The label was shut down for the time being 2004. After the new owner Sony BMG label in 2007 revived, it was bought back by the founder and is now a subsidiary of Rifkinds new label Street Records Corporation within the Universal Music Group. The first record contract the new Loud Records was back with Wu -Tang Clan.
