Loui Eriksson

Loui Eriksson (born 17 July 1985 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player ( left wing ), which is since July 2013 with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Loui began at Lerum BK with ice hockey and played with eleven years at 16 -year-old. Already as a teenager he moved to Västra Frölunda HC. With Frölunda then he started his professional career in the Swedish Elitserien. He was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the second round as 33 of the Dallas Stars. He then played in the 2005/06 season with the Iowa Stars, where he was able to record 31 goals and 29 assists in 78 games. In the following season he moved to the Dallas Stars in the NHL. In the season 2006/ 07 he was 59 times used, whereby he scored 6 goals and had 13 assists. In the playoffs, he recorded in four games an Assist

Since then he belongs to the permanent cadre of the team and together with Brad Richards and James Neal, the first forward line. After finishing the regular season 2010/11 Eriksson was nominated together with Nicklas Lidstrom, and Martin St. Louis for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.

During the NHL lockout, the Swede was committed by the HC Davos of the National League A in December 2012. In July 2013 he was, together with Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser in exchange for Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and Ryan Button transferred to the Boston Bruins.

Internationally

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki Eriksson was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with this. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the silver medal with the Swedish national team.
