Louis Abell

Louis Grenville Abell ( born July 21, 1884 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, † October 25, 1962 ) was an American rower and two-time Olympic champion.

He was helmsman aft of the Vesper Boat Club of Philadelphia. With this he won at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900 and four years later at the Summer Games in St. Louis the gold medal. With the same team as 1900 in Paris Abell also won the national championship of 1902.

For most of his life spent in Elizabeth Abell in the U.S. state of New Jersey, where he worked for 40 years for the health department.
