Louis Armstrong Park (New Orleans)

The Louis Armstrong Park is a city park in the U.S. city of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was named in honor of New Orleans 's most famous son, Louis Armstrong, built and is located north of the French Quarter.

The park is located, only separated by the Rampart Street, right on the edge of the French Quarter in the Treme neighborhood and covers an area of approximately 130,000 m². The park contains the New Orleans Municipal Auditorium, the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts, the Congo Square and parts of the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park.

1970 and 1971, the park was the first venue of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
