Louis Aubert

Louis Aubert ( born February 19, 1877 in Paramé; † January 9, 1968 in Paris) was a French composer.

He studied at the Paris Conservatory, singing, piano, harmony, accompaniment and composition, the latter under Gabriel Fauré. He was then continued at the Conservatory and worked for the French radio and as a critic.

In his works, he sat down in the tradition of Fauré for the independence of the French music one. Italian and German influences should be pushed back.

Aubert is the dedicatee of the Valses nobles et sentimental by Maurice Ravel, who also studied composition at the Paris Conservatoire from 1897 when Gabriel Fauré.
