Louis-Auguste Desmarres

Louis -Auguste Desmarres ( born September 22, 1810 in Évreux, Eure; † August 22, 1882 in Neuilly -sur -Seine, Hauts -de- Seine) was a French ophthalmologist.

After his doctorate, he was an assistant with Frédéric Jules Sichel. In 1842 he founded a private eye clinic in Paris.

Today, several medical instruments are named after Desmarres.
