Louis Henry, Count Palatine of Simmern-Kaiserslautern

Ludwig Heinrich Moritz von Pfalz- simmering (* October 11 1640 in Sedan, † January 3, 1674 in Vienna) was a Count Palatine and Duke of simmering Kaiserslautern.

Life

Ludwig Heinrich Moritz was the only surviving son of the Count Palatine Ludwig Philipp of simmering - Kaiserslautern (1602-1655) from his marriage to Marie Eleonore (1607-1675), daughter of the Elector Joachim Frederick of Brandenburg. The Prince was born in Sedan, where her parents had fled before the Thirty Years' War.

He followed, under the guardianship of his mother and of the Elector Karl Ludwig of the Palatinate, his father in 1655 in the Principality of simmering. He married on 23 September 1666 Kleve Marie ( 1642-1688 ), daughter of Prince Frederick Henry of Orange. Marriage, in contrast to that of their sisters rather by inclination, as has been closed for political reasons, remained childless.

Ludwig Heinrich Moritz died without an heir to leave, which is why the so-called younger branch Palatinate - simmering went out and the Principality of simmering fell to Elector Karl Ludwig of the Palatinate, the nearest agnate of the Count Palatine.

Ludwig Heinrich Moritz was buried in the Church of St. Stephen in simmering.
