Louis Lacombe

Louis Trouillon Lacombe (* November 26, 1818 in Bourges, † September 30, 1884 in Saint- Vaast- la -Hougue, Manche département ) was a French composer.

Life

Lacombe 1829 piano student of Pierre -Joseph -Guillaume Zimmermann at the Paris Conservatoire and in 1831 the first piano prize. In 1832 he left the Institute and undertook a concert tour through France, Belgium and Germany. The journey ended in Vienna, where he studied with Carl Czerny 1834 eight months piano and Simon Sechter and Ignaz von Seyfried music theory. In 1839 he returned to another concert tours to Paris and devoted himself more and more of the composition.

A piano quintet, a trio and some piano works were his first publications. There followed the dramatic symphonies ( with solos and choruses ): Manfred (1847 ) and Arva (1850 ), a second trio, a large Octave Etude for piano, many other piano works, songs, a lyrical epic of gigantic plant, an opera (La Madone 1861 at the Théâtre lyrique listed ), the music for Paulin Niboyets L'Amour and others. Best known for his works of Sappho, price cantata the 1878 World Fair, which was performed repeatedly at the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Conservatory.
